“The blind trust is an age-old ruse, if you will. Which is to say, you can always tell a blind trust what it can and cannot do.”
- Mitt Romney, 1994, during his campaign against Ted Kennedy

- Context: Mitt Romney has claimed that all his investments are made through a blind trust so as to prevent a conflict of interest: “My investments are not made by me. My investments for the last 10 years have been in a blind trust, managed by a trustee.” However, in this 1994 video, Romney is seen attacking Ted Kennedy on the issue of blind trusts and contradicting his own claims during his 2012 campaign.
